Getting kids and some adults to eat their vegetables can be challenging, let alone embracing a plant-based diet. However, the rise of plant-based alternatives has made it easier than ever to incorporate healthier options into our family meals. One of my favorite options is plant-based chicken parmesan. It is a delicious and nutritious alternative to the traditional version.

Why Plant-Based is Awesome

Traditional chicken parmesan is typically breaded and fried chicken breast, which can be high in saturated fat. Excess consumption of saturated fat is linked to various health issues, including heart disease. Plant-based chicken is usually lower in saturated fat because they are made from ingredients like soy, wheat, or pea protein.

Also, traditional chicken contains dietary cholesterol, which can contribute to heart disease if consumed in excess. Plant-based chicken alternatives are cholesterol-free, making them heart-healthy for kids and adults alike.

Many plant-based chicken products are fortified with vitamins and minerals. These products often contain as much protein as traditional chicken, if not more.

Plant-based chicken alternatives are made from a variety of wholesome ingredients, such as vegetables, grains, and legumes. These ingredients are packed with essential vitamins and minerals, including fiber, potassium, magnesium, and vitamins C and K. By choosing plant-based chicken parmesan, you can introduce your family to a wider range of nutrients, helping to support their overall health and well-being.

If you or your family member have food allergies, plant-based chicken alternatives are often allergen-friendly, as they are typically free from common allergens like dairy, eggs, and nuts.
